Why Topless Pizza Lunch?

When dealing with free blog software, sites or just technology in general, I'm often forced to find strength in one of my three core philosophies in life: "You got to roll with the punches to get to what's real." (I know, Van Halen ain't what they used to be, but the line is still good.)

It took me a couple of days to kick around ideas for a blog name that captures the spirit of who I am as a person and what I'm trying to do here. Somewhere between the page load from TMZ.com to Napkin Nights, I realized that I am "Dry Heat" -- a trite Vegas weather reference for sure, but perfect for my brand of humour and international sex appeal.

Of course Dry Heat on Blogger is already taken by some right-wing whack job that hasn't posted anything in 3+ years, but that's OK, I'm a bright bulb, I can figure something out, yeah?

I narrowed my Blogger URL choices down to dryhotness.blogspot.com or toplesspizzalunch.blogspot.com. In a fictional focus group, "dry hotness" came off as menopausal and corn flaky sans milk. Interestingly enough, "topless pizza lunch" didn't register anything at all. One fictional guy did say that sometimes he pretends the cooked slices of pepperonni are inverted nipples when he licks the accumulated pool of cured sausage grease from the meat.

To use a business phrase, at the end of the day, I'd rather have a blank canvas than images of dry corn flakes, so I went with toplesspizzalunch.blogspot.com. And for the record, there is a Vegas connection with "Topless Pizza Lunch." I'll leave it to you and Google to figure it out.

It's just an URL, a plate if you will, upon which heaps of Vegas goodness will be served.
